A female, 58 years of age at diagnosis with NSCLC Stage IIIA adenocarcinoma,former smoker with a 25 pack year history (I pack a day for 25 years) who had quit 13 years before being screened. Nodule first found by a CT screening scan, followed by additional scans to confirm growth. Had lobectomy followed by chemotherapy (2 rounds of alimta and cisplatin and 2 rounds of alimta and carboplatin) and 35 rounds of radiation. Had basal cell skin cancer 13 years before lung cancer diagnosis and papillary thyroid cancer 3 years before lung cancer diagnosis. Has an extensive family history of lung cancer (father at age 56 and maternal aunt at 77) and other cancers all on paternal side (leukemia, stomach, breast and kidney cancers).
